Jessica, Office Manager
Jessica grew up in Clark Lake, MI. She started a career as an educator for Aveda Institutes for about a decade and then went out on her own as a Cosmetologist in the later years. After many years in the cosmetology industry she devoted more of her time to the family business here at Maxson Dental. You may find Jessica greeting you as you walk into the office, working at the front desk, bookkeeping or mowing the lawn. Jessica says " I do everything but teeth, LOL"! She and Dr. Maxson have 3 adult daughters that are starting their own adventures out in the world doing cool things. When they are away from the business they enjoy spending time outdoors and taking their 2 black and tan hounds (Bo and Billie girl) on adventures. Jessica's favorite role in the practice is the new patient experience. She believes that people more now than ever, desire being cared for in a slower and closer kind a way. Jessica says "when I hear people's stories and why they are looking for a new dentist I actually hear what a patient values. Greg and I have spent a lot of time over the years around the conversation of values and what they mean to us. They are our foundation, and when our values align with what patients desire, I know that they have found their new dental home".
Shanna, R.D.H
Shanna earned her dental hygiene degree in 2005, from Lansing Community College and has been practicing as a full time hygienist the past 17 years. Shanna, also known to her patients as "Shanna Banana", is often heard saying, "she's living the dream" -living the dream of truly enjoying what she does and having a passion for caring for people. She has a fun-loving approach to life and laughter can often be heard from her treatment room. Shanna was born in Alma, Michigan and grew up in St. Johns. She now resides in Lansing with her four-legged son, Oliver Aaron, her little Shih-tzu. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling around Michigan to unique places sightseeing, trying new foods, fishing, watching movies, game nights, cooking and anything to do with art. Shanna is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and Capital Region Dental Hygiene Association.
Angelina R.D.H
Angelina is a dental hygienist and graduated from Lansing Community College. She is Hmong-American, born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. Angelina enjoys the outdoors and playing/watching sports. She loves to spend her free time with her family and playing the guitar for her son. Angelina says " I love how powerful a simple smile can make someone else's day... so what better job than a dental hygienist for a healthy one"!
Kairstan, Assistant
Kairstan grew up in Durand, MI and graduated from Durand Area High School in 2015. She then went on to further her education and expand her opportunities to help others by pursing a degree in human services. Kairstan graduated from Baker College in 2020 with her Bachelor's in Human Services. She joined the Maxson Dental team as a dental assistant in June 2022. Kairstan is always eager to help to improve someone's day. In her spare time, Kairstan enjoys being outdoors on the disc golf course with her pup, Nova. She also enjoys making new memories with her friends and family. She has experience working in adult assisted living as a care giver and as an adminstrator in both a recovery pathways facility and urgent care. Kairstain has significat experience in community support services as well.
